Gary Caldwell sacked as Partick Thistle manager

Scottish Championship side Partick Thistle has sacked as manager gary Caldwell.
Scotland defender Caldwell and former Celtic and his assistant manager Brian Kerr have had their contracts terminated with immediate impact.
After a prolonged run of form resulting in Thistle languishing second-bottom of the second grade win this season, the board agreed on the conclusion.
Partick Thistle chairman David Beattie said:”That is not an outcome anybody wanted, but we believe this decision is in the best interests of the club and we could wait no more time to make a shift.
“On behalf of this board, I’d like to thank Gary and Brian for all their efforts to get Partick Thistle and want them both every success in their future professions.”
The Glasgow club narrowly avoided relegation last season, with all Caldwell, 36, carrying over after Alan Archibald’s departure a year ago in October and were relegated from the top-flight in 2018.
First-team striker Kenny Miller, academy director Scott Allison and chief executive Gerry Britton will take control for Thistle’s home match against Dunfermline Athletic on Saturday, using a League Cup clash against Celtic after that on Wednesday.
