Hawk-Eye-Innovations apologise following VAR screen error in Tottenham draw

The company providing Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology in the Premier League has apologised after having a graphic mistake during Tottenham’s 1-1 draw with Watford.
Spurs midfielder Dele Alli salvaged a point for Spurs four minutes from time, cancelling out the opener of Abdoulaye Doucoure.
However referee Christopher Kavanagh initiated a VAR test for a handball.
Kavanagh signalled for a goal following the review, but an error from the base in Stockley Park triggered an opinion on the screen of’ No Target’.
The problem caused confusion among the sets of fans – and Hawk-Eye Innovations, the company, has pledged to work together with the Premier League to make sure there is no repeat scenario.
“Hawk-Eye apologises to Spurs and Watford lovers for the confusion triggered when an incorrect image was sent to the big screen,” a company statement read.
“We’re working together with PGMOL and also the Premier League to comprehend the root cause of the issue and suggest measures to make sure it won’t happen again.”
Tottenham are in seventh in the Premier League table following a Tricky start to the campaign and also face team leaders Liverpool at Anfield Sunday live on Sky Sports Premier League.
Watford remain rock base with four things and without a win at five Premier League games because reappointing Quique Sanchez Flores as head trainer.
