Volkanovski depends upon his wrestling, especially control that is top in order to get an edge. Mendes is the better wrestler both offensively and defensively, having never been taken down into his UFC career. Volkanovski has been taken down in the past by much lesser fighters, even though he is clearly improving with experience. The durability and layoff questions are the chief reasons we are getting such great odds on the veteran. It seems to be a clear pick considering he seemed on the scales in shape. This battle will be action packed and it’s Mendes with more resources to find the end or stand up damage and control to impress the judges.
