This all starts with a $2.41 Arduino Pro Mini Board, a 6N137 optocoupler, a LM78L05 voltage regulator, miscellaneous resistors and capacitors, and a program and library modified for the job. I am EXCELLENT in circuit board design, and manufacture, so I can help with this also. The high speed opto-couplers came in this weekend.
One using rotary encoder controls, etc. I’ve sent you an email with a sketch that controls 10 servos and that works here on my own layout.

Track DCC current in the forward LED direction is detected by the opto, and causes the output to go low. One pin on the Arduino picks up the DCC data and the other 17 I/0 pins are connected to LEDs. The fact that the DCC sniffer gives different results than Rocrail also hints in that direction. If we can use an Arduino to control our accessories and servos via DCC we can reduce cost by a factor 10.
I was thinking of using the input ports of the Arduino Uno also for sending block occupancy (reed switches) status to the command station (Arduino Mega).

You can also build a DCCNext module using the info and the parts from I wrote a script to test the circuit and check the uno is getting interrupts and YES it is getting them. DCC sends commands using polarity as I understand it, so I know I need to read the polarity, but how does the optocoupler do it here?I have a very limited knowledge of electronics right now so pardon anything stupid I said :PThat specific chip (the 6N137) uses a more efficient IC detector rather than a simple transistor junction. It is some kind of saturation (optocoupler?).

Sets up immediately upon power up!! A loop iterates through all the addresses, whereas a switch statement with a whole heap of cases can be a lot quicker. First try you could do is plave the DCC.loop() statement inside the ‘for’ loop, else use the code I sent, which works a little different. I have it working on Digikeijs DR5000, but for some reason it does not work flawless on a Digitrax CS. I tried the DCC decoder library example called DCC monitor but it is just showing 0 packages.
